What's Next?

I graduate high school in the spring of 2023 and plan on attending college out west. My biggest passion and interest outside of riding is simply the mountains and outdoors. As I close out my Equitation career and high school, I plan on learning the ropes of ski and adventure photography and branch out my photography.

My current goal is to major in Marketing, with the hopes of one day working for an outdoor magazine as a photographer or joining an outdoor marketing team to incorporate my photography and skills I learned as an Equine photographer.  My heart will always be drawn towards having a camera in hand and I hope I can one day make my passion into my profession.

At the beginning of the summer of 2017, I fell in love with photos taken by Ramsay Trask and Sarah Bennett on their Instagrams and decided I wanted to give it a try. That fall, I made the decision to create my own Instagram page for sharing my photos and that decision has changed my life for the better. On my 14th birthday, my family gave me my first camera after a year of using my mom's old camera, and it is the same camera I still shoot on!

I love to dream big and set goals for myself, and one of my biggest dreams and goals was to work on National Horseman's team. In June 2019, at the same show that began my photography journey, I had the opportunity to shoot for The National Horseman for the first time! I've truly been blessed to have the chance to work with them and am so grateful.

I started photoshoots in 2018 with the intention of helping pay my parents for Academy Nationals. As time went on, photoshoots helped me reach my biggest dream, to show in Saddleseat Equitation. In the spring of 2021, I was able to purchase my first suit and make my performance debut, the moment I had dreamed about for six years. After my debut, we spent a few months looking for my own horse to continue my equitation career with, and in August of 2021, we made the trip to Louisville. It lead us to Louis or In The Wind, who within 48 hours of our first ride together, loaded onto our trailer and came home to North Carolina. Now, I'm using photography to continue paying for tack, gear, and horse shows and I'm so grateful I get to follow my passion to achieve my dreams.

From taking pictures in the warmup ring and outgates to meeting new people and hanging out with my barn family, horse shows are definitely my favorite weekends and weeks of the year! While I'm not at the barn or taking photos, I'm most likely skiing, hiking, baking, working out, studying, reading, or working as a summer camp counselor at YMCA Camp Cheerio. If you ever see me at a show feel free to come say hi!
